Whether it's playing music, exploring advances in audiology, teaching university graduate students in audiology or immersing himself in research, his authenticity and dedication shines.

For those who have experienced Brian's passion for science, sound and helping others - the fact that he became New Brunswick’s first audiologist to practice with a Doctorate of Audiology - will come as no surprise. Early into his career Brian established the Alexander Hearing Center, earning the respect and admiration of his peers and clients for his innovative spirit and commitment to evidence-based solutions for hearing loss and tinnitus.

In 2013 Brian decided to leave the Alexander Hearing Center that he had founded, to pursue a vision dedicated to 'accelerating the potential' of children and adults with hearing and speech-related challenges. Metro Hearing & Speech Centre is the result - and is focused on creating a community of shared expertise, resources and conversations. It is one of the first Centres in Eastern Canada to specialize in the assessment and treatment of Auditory Processing Disorders and Tinnitus with both Audiology and Speech Pathology under one roof.

Brian also continues to provide evidence-based hearing solutions for those with hearing loss including a new comprehensive approach to the selection and fitting of hearing aids- that resulted from the insight, knowledge and skills learned from the addition of Auditory Processing and Tinnitus specialities.

Brian is an adjunct professor of audiology at Dalhousie University where he teaches third year graduate audiology students. Brian received his Bachelor of Science from Mount Allison University in 1984 and a Masters in Communication Disorders from the University of Maine in 1987. He also worked as a Speech Language Pathologist in hospital and school settings before attending James Madison University for Gradauate studies in Audiology in 1990. In 2002 Brian earned his Au.D. from Central Michigan Unversity and became the first audiologist in New Brunswick to practice with a Doctorate of Audiology.

Dr. Alexander is a founding board member of the Canadian Academy of Audiology, and has presented at national conferences on tinnitus, hearing loss and hearing technology. He is a member of; the Regulatory College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of New Brunswick (RCASLPNB), Canadian Academy of Audiology, American Academy of Audiology, Canadian Hard of Hearing Association and the American Tinnitus Association. He is the founder of the Greater Moncton Hearing Aid bank and served as a technical advisor to the South East Deaf and Hard of Hearing, a United Way Agency.

She'll never forget the day she spoke on stage at a National Conference.

For Chelsea it wasn't simply an accomplishment, it was also confirmation that she was inherently passionate about her work as a speech pathologist. Her love for languages originally fuelled a career in translation, but she quickly realized it didn’t allow her work with people.

Chelsea believes that on some level, we both love and fear speaking. Maybe in part because kids are quick to tease for the dumbest reasons, or it’s simply an issue of confidence. In many ways she feels her work empowers people, by giving them the confidence to overcome speech related challenges.

Chelsea received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics from the Université de Moncton, a Diploma in Communication Sciences Disorders from The University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA, and a Master of Science in Education in Speech-Language Pathology from The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY.

In previous roles prior to joining Metro Hearing & Speech in 2014, Chelsea served a range of clients from preschoolers to adults with a complexity of speech and language challenges.

Chelsea is a provincially certified member of the Regulatory College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of New Brunswick (RCASLPNB). Chelsea has presented at the American Speech-Language Hearing Association’s national conference in Atlanta GA in 2012 and in Chicago in 2013 where she received a Meritorious Poster Submission Award and Research Travel Award for her presentation on Integrating Counseling Techniques into "Neurogenic Group Therapy"

Immediately prior to joining Metro Hearing & Speech, Chelsea served as a speech-language pathologist at Stepping Stones Fundy Region Inc. and Fundy Speech Pathology and Psychology Clinic, in Saint John, NB.

Communication is about connection. Allyson finds great joy in the moments that she can see her clients succeeding, whether it’s a person with aphasia telling their loved one “I love you” for the first time since a stroke, a child telling a joke using their communication device, or a parent feeling empowered to help their child learn to communicate with them.

Allyson has always prioritized connecting with people. Moving around frequently with her family as a child, she developed a talent for meeting people and building relationships. As a speech-language pathologist, she uses those skills to work with her clients and families. Clients appreciate that Allyson always works from where they are, and say she is warm, inviting, and empathetic.

Allyson graduated from McGill University with her Master’s in speech pathology in 2018 and began her career working in the school board in Nova Scotia. She then transitioned to working in the hospital system in Newfoundland before settling down in Moncton with Metro Hearing and Speech Centre in 2020. At Metro, she is a passionate advocate for her clients and uses her knowledge of the public system to help connect with the entire circle of care.

Beyond her clinical work, Allyson gives back to the profession she loves by providing mentorship to new graduates of S-LP programs across Canada through the Speech Audiology Canada Mentorship program.

Allyson is a nationally certified member of Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) and a provincially certified member of the Regulatory College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of New Brunswick (RCASLPNB).

Allyson provides assessment and intervention for a variety of populations. Adult populations served include those with cognitive-communication deficits, aphasia, apraxia of speech, and voice challenges or differences. Child populations served include children with articulation, phonology, motor speech, receptive and expressive language, literacy, and social communication challenges or differences.

Allyson has the following training and certifications:

• Hanen More Than Words for parents of autistic children with social communication difficulties
• SMoRRES for communication partner training in AAC (augmentative and alternative communication)
• Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) for children with childhood apraxia of speech
• Lively Letters Program for teaching reading and writing
• UCLA Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS) for adolescents and young adults with social communication difficulties
• Goal Management Training to improve executive functioning, attention, and goal attainment in adults with cognitive communication impairments
• Supported Conversation for People with Aphasia

Sarah realized she had a passion for helping others during her volunteering with Global Brigades, and a passion for working with children during her student job as a camp counsellor. Pursuing a career as a speech-language pathologist allowed her to combine these passions by working with children and their families to overcome speech, language and communication challenges. Whether it is through crafts, games, or songs, Sarah feels it is important to keep speech-language therapy fun and silly, so that students are engaged and motivated.

Sarah received her Bachelor of Science in Medical Sciences from Dalhousie University, in Halifax, NS, and Master of Clinical Sciences in Communication Sciences and Disorders in Speech-Language Pathology from Western University, in London, Ontario.

In August 2023, Sarah joined Metro Hearing and Speech Centre as a speech-language pathologist. Sarah is dedicated to providing evidence-based care and family-centered therapy, catered to each client’s individual needs.

Sarah is a nationally certified member of Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) and a provincially certified member of the Regulatory College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of New Brunswick (RCASLPNB).

Sarah has training and certifications in Hanen It Takes Two to Talk (ITTT) for parents of children with language delays, Hanen More Than Words for parents of autistic children with social communication difficulties, Once Upon a Time Foundation Diagnosis and Treatment of CAS Using Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) for children with Childhood Apraxia of Speech, and UCLA Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS) for adolescents and young adults with social communication difficulties.

Sarah provides assessment and intervention in a variety of disorder areas including articulation, phonology, motor speech, receptive and expressive language, literacy, social communication and voice.

With a passion for patient-centered care and operational excellence, Monique oversees the daily management of the clinic to ensure a seamless, welcoming experience for clients and their families. Monique is often the first point of contact for clients, families, and clinical staff, coordinating appointments, maintaining records, and managing communications with empathy and professionalism.

Known for her warm and collaborative leadership style, Monique is committed to fostering a supportive environment for both staff and clients.

Monique received a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of New Brunswick in 1990. Before joining the healthcare field, Monique spent over a decade as an educator, where she honed her ability to listen, manage complex needs, and create welcoming environments. Her experience in education translates seamlessly into her current role—supporting patients, coordinating care, and ensuring the clinic runs smoothly every day.

Before joining the Administrative Team at Metro Hearing and Speech, Jill worked as an Optician from 2018 to 2024, where she developed a strong background in customer service, attention to detail, and a passion for helping others see the world more clearly. She received her Diploma in Optical Sciences from Oulton College in 2018.

Known for her big heart and great sense of humor, Jill brings warmth, positivity, and dedication to every interaction. Her dedication to excellence goes beyond just a cheerful greeting—as a first point of contact, Jill is instrumental in keeping daily operations running smoothly. Whether she's coordinating schedules, managing communications, or solving problems before they arise, her organizational skills, combined with genuine care for others, make her an indispensable part of our team.
